Shannon and Steven

Yesterday I photographed Shannon & Steven’s wedding in Carmel. They couldn’t have had a more beautiful day. The day started with Shannon getting ready at Asilomar. When I arrived, everyone was having their hair and makeup done, including the bridesmaids who were wearing custom tee shirts from Shannon. As soon as Shannon slipped into her beautiful Vera Wang gown, I could feel her excitement. All of her planning was about to become reality!

The couple was married at the Carmel Mission Basilica by the bride’s great uncle Daniel with 200 guests looking on. After the ceremony, we stopped at Asilomar State Beach for some photographs and fun. Then it was back to Merrill Hall at Asilomar where all Eventscapes had transformed the hall with pink roses, silver accents, and lots of sparkle.

Steven is a chef so, the food was very important. Asilomar’s Chef Alessio created a custom four course meal just for them. Yum! And since Shannon loves cupcakes, they had cake and cupcakes created by Marina Sousa of Just Cake.

After many heartfelt and tearful toasts, the couple had their first dance to a song mixed by their DJ (Jason of Sound in Motion). As a surprise to their guests, they started with a slow song and then switched to a fully choreographed version of Ice Ice Baby. The guests loved it! After they danced with their parents, all the guests danced the rest of the night away.

Congratulations Steven and Shannon! Have a wonderful time on your honeymoon in Dubai and the Maldives!
