Tonight I went to the invitation-only opening of Gabrielle’s (designer wedding gowns) and Nicole Lissanne’s (wedding coordinator) fabulous new boutique in Campbell. They had the best of everything – gorgeous gowns, fabulous music, food, drinks, and gourmet donuts!

Before I go any further about yummy donuts, I must say a HUGE congratulations to Gabrielle and Nicole on the opening of their boutique. If you are looking for a gown or help planning your wedding these two stylish ladies should definitely be on your list of people to meet!

Heidi Pizzo of Donuts du Jour in Los Altos is on the forefront of a new trend – donuts at weddings. These aren’t any old donuts either – incredible fillings, beautiful decorating and presentation. The donuts would make a wonderful dessert bar at a wedding reception. They were certainly a hit at the store opening!

The donuts would also make a great take home favor. Or, imagine having a beautiful box of miniature donuts delivered to your overnight guests the morning after your wedding! Your guests would love you!

And, Heidi even ships!

Near the end of last year I photographed Lorraine and John’s wedding at the Holly Farm in Carmel. The day was full of surprises, one being their wedding cake made by Edith Meyer. I thought it was simply a beautiful and delicious cake until I found out that Edith uses all organic ingredients!!

The cake she made for Lorraine and John was simple and fit the rustic theme of their wedding. When I went to her website, I discovered she also does incredible detail work on cakes. You have to see the cakes to believe it. Absolutely gorgeous!!

For the bride that wants her cake to taste wonderful, look incredible, and be made of the best ingredients possible, you must check out Edith Meyer in Santa Cruz.

Her website is: http://www.edithmeyer.com/
